SCOTUS According to Jack 1 comment

SCOTUS According to Jack   So marriage equality is finally here, by order of the SCOTUS. I for one am extremely thrilled while still being mindful of the fact that there is still work to do in the various spheres of human rights. But it is a huge victory for US citizens that there is now formal acknowledgement and legitimacy of same sex marriage. The ruling does not particularly affect me on an individual level. I’m already married. Marriage Equality was recognized in my state last year and prior to the ruling, Marriage Equality existed in some form or another in 37 states prior to the ruling. It does affect many of my friends and loved ones, however, some of whom have been with their partners for decades, but have been unable to so much as visit them in the hospital when they are ill. I spend a lot of […]

Bullying Isn’t Just a Kid’s Sport 8 comments

Bullying Isn’t Just a Kid’s Sport Do you remember that kid when you were little, the one everyone avoided because if you caught his or her eye it meant impending doom? Maybe you were witness to or experienced first-hand the group of mean girls who thought they were better than everyone else was, and made life hell for the nerdy, shy people. What about the big kid who teases or beats up those weaker day after day, did you know him? Then there is the stereotypical group of jocks who stuff the loner or geek in his locker. I know, that particular act of bullying happens more often than not in the movies instead of real life, but it is an unfortunate reality that bullies exist, and there are a lot of people who can vouch for the cruelties of them. All of the above are profiles of bullies, but […]

Beauty’s Book Review ~ Best Lesbian Erotica 2015 ~ Edited by Laura Antinou

Vanilla to Kink, the Sultry and the Sordid Best Lesbian Erotica 2015 ~ Edited by Laura Antinou Beauty’s Book Review As always, my opinion is my own and a paperback of the Best Lesbian Erotica 2015 was given to me by the good folks at Cleis Press. I started reading lesbian erotica regularly when I was in my twenties, and had two big stacks of books on and around my night stand just filled with lesbian anthologies, as I would read in bed. I liked Laura Antoniou’s introduction to the book telling of her first call for submissions twenty years ago. You actually had to put an ad in the paper, have authors write letters with their submission included, or use the phone to let people know what was needed. No internets for you then. The first sight I had of any computer with some sort of ‘internet’ connection was […]

J.M. Dabney’s Club Revenge Book Tour

J.M. Dabney’s Club Revenge Book Tour Thank you Jolynn for letting me share my novel with you today. Club Revenge (Dysfunction at its Finest, Book 1) is a Dark Fantasy Paranormal with hints of horror. I primarily write Lesbian Fiction/Romance, yet I enjoy writing the darker and sometimes gorier stories. In CR I was able to let my love of carnage and inappropriate humor off the leash. This book along with the others to follow are the stories I’ve always wanted to tell. The Medina-Jackyl family made me cry, maniacally cackle and roll my eyes. The Asylum Residents aka The Family forgot I’m supposed to be the Warden as they tended to take over—outlines be damned. In CR layers are peeled back, exposing depths of pain, rage, and love until it reveals all their secrets. Contained within the pages of CR exist conspiracy theories, Dark Age prophesies, cults, shifters, vampires, […]

A Collection of Posts Explaining The Daddy/ lg/ Babygirl Dynamic #AdultSexEdMonth 9 comments

A Collection of Posts Explaining The Daddy/ lg/ Babygirl Dynamic #AdultSexEdMonth  The Daddy/ babygirl Dynamic This piece is written by a close friend, RWE. He has a great deal of experience with Daddy Dom/babygirl relationships, and was eager to share his knowledge in an effort to provide a clear and intelligent voice on this often misunderstood relationship. Being Her Daddy/ Being His babygirl  John Brownstone and his babygirl Kayla explain how their dynamic works in a Daddy/ little girl relationship. I originally got the idea of doing guest posts from reading John’s article from his blog, and asked Kayla if she could write a companion piece to go along with it. RWE‘s post focused on his roll of Daddy, this piece tells both sides.  Daddy and Babygirl Relationships by Paul Rulof (Rule of Three) While we have had several other Daddy/babygirl posts, the subject seems to be popular, and I have had […]

Change Is A Four Letter Word 32 comments

Change Is A Four Letter Word {Written by Jolynn Raymond} Change is just a word, but it can mean many different things to people. Some of us hate it, and some embrace it. I am one of the haters. Change does more than annoy me, it gives me anxiety, makes my head spin with the uncertainty of it, and is just plain unwelcome in my life. Perhaps it’s the dominant in me who must always be in control speaking up, or the memories of bad changes in my past keeping me from wanting to move forward. Either way, telling me there must be big changes in my life is a sure way to receive a nasty glare. I am well aware that there have been and will be great changes that come along. Meeting my soon to be all the way wife, Beauty, snowballed into a wonderful and life altering […]

Adult Sex Ed Month Here For Its Third Year! #AdultSexEdMonth

Adult Sex Ed Month (#AdultSexEdMonth) is here for its third year this June! #AdultSexEdMonth is a social media campaign during the month of June to share educational and informational blog posts, articles, videos, podcasts and infographics about adult sex on Twitter and Facebook with the hashtag #AdultSexEdMonth. So why is #AdultSexEdMonth a big deal? Most adults are uninformed about the basics of sex, let alone things like consent, safer sex practices, techniques and the kinky stuff. It’s not that people are stupid, but we can’t know what we haven’t been taught. The sex education we were taught in high school was lousy. For most people having sex is like getting behind the wheel of a car and never have taken a driver’s training course. Why can’t I just look for what I’m curious about on Google? Good luck! The credible information about adult sex ed information is usually buried deep in the bowels of […]
