  I was tagged for this blog post by the wonderful Sotia Lazu. Thank you! What are you working on right now? I have a series of books that feature the Connelly Witches. They are the magical descendants of the vampire and Gypsy in my paranormal historical novels Beneath the Shadows of Evil. The family made a vow to protect mankind from the evil that walks among us. Battling demons of course has its pitfalls and leads them on many adventures.  I am offering both books in the series at a low price running this month. The books are stand alone but you can better understand the history aspect if you start with Shattered Images. After much deliberation and a bit of a spat with my Muse, I have decided to change the title of book two in my Beneath the Shadows of Evil Series to Torn. I had named it Trapped, because really, Alliana is still there against her will, but the spark of love starts within these pages and so she is indeed torn. Does she dare to love the one who holds her captive? The answer to this and more will be revealed on May 1st.

First thing at morning put on my coffee and read the day away family had to fend for themselves. This book had me on edge I went from pissed to awed. I Couldn’t Wait…Beneath the Shadows of Evil

Try as I might, once Shadows was edited and made all shiny and ready, I couldn’t wait any longer to publish it. Beneath the Shadows of Evil… Taken has gone to the publisher and will be live in a couple of days, most likely late Tuesday or Wednesday. This is the first book of three in the series. The others will be released May 1st, 2013 and July 1st, 2013. So hurray! This was a long time in coming.

Though it took me a good long while and though it was a difficult task, I have been successful in dividing Beneath the Shadows of Evil. I can send book one off to the editor, and focus on the cover image and other little details now.  There will be three books. The first of which will be out in spring sometime between the middle of March and the first of May. Each book will be at least 6oo pages!. The cost for the print version of each book will be high, but the story simply didn’t lend itself to being split into 4 books. So now there is a new dilemma. I have called the book Beneath the Shadows for so long, but now that will be the name of the series. I have to come up with a name for each book, and it must be short, because the series title will take up a lot of space on the […]

What does one do when the story they have written is a whopping 450,000 words? Many have said that books shouldn’t be over 100,000 words, especially in this day and age of the ADHD society. The paperback version will be too costly to print, and the e-book reader doesn’t want to invest the time, or so they say. So here I am left attempting to split apart a story that has a lot of small plot lines woven into the big picture and finding it a nightmare to cut it up. If I follow the wisdom of those with experience and those in the business, I should chop it into four parts, but those parts aren’t clearly evident. Each sub plot is too intricately imbedded. Will my readers scream if too many of the small plot lines are left dangling? I am left with is cliffhangers ever where I look. The obvious break line […]
