For our first Valetine’s Day, Jolynn had flowers delivered to the house. I wasn’t expecting anyone at 10am in the morning, as I still had my robe and jammies on when I answered the door. It was the delivery guys bringing my flowers to me. The flowers were unexpected, as I’m not used to having someone give them to me for special occasions or just because. An hour later Jolynn called me to see if I had gotten them that morning, which I had, and I told her I was surprised. She normally never shops anywhere after work, as shopping isn’t her thing, especially at the grocery store when everyone and their mother is there getting what they need for dinner.
So it’s getting to be an hour later, and I worry, since she always comes home at a certain time. I think I did call after her that day to see why she was late. So at about 4pm, Jolynn comes home and she is carrying a cake from Trader Joe’s and has a card for me. So I make dinner like I do all the time, and then we have our delicious chocolate cake. Now every year before Valentine’s Day, I trot over to Trader Joe’s and get our cake. Sometimes there is only one left, so I snap that one up and take it with me. We usually get one that is called Patisserie de Choclat. It’s not there all the time, as they put out what they have. For today we have their For Love of Chocolate Cake, and it says – Rich Chocolate Layer Cake + Dark Chocolate Filling = True Love
So hopefully for your Valentine’s Day you do something special, or have a tradition that you started like we did. You can do something creative in the bedroom for your someone like what Jolynn put out there for people on Kinkly, or make them a nice dinner made with love from you. There is a million little ways that you can say I love you to someone, and it doesn’t have to cost a dime. Happy Valentine’s Day from Jolynn and I.
