After much deliberation and a bit of a spat with my Muse, I have decided to change the title of book two in my Beneath the Shadows of Evil Series to Torn. I had named it Trapped, because really, Alliana is still there against her will, but the spark of love starts within these pages and so she is indeed torn. Does she dare to love the one who holds her captive? The answer to this and more will be revealed on May 1st.
Taken… Beneath the Shadows of Evil is now officially released. It is so new it isn’t on my author page yet so don’t search by typing in my name. You need to follow this link or type in the title, you’ll find it. Happy reading!
Try as I might, once Shadows was edited and made all shiny and ready, I couldn’t wait any longer to publish it. Beneath the Shadows of Evil… Taken has gone to the publisher and will be live in a couple of days, most likely late Tuesday or Wednesday. This is the first book of three in the series. The others will be released May 1st, 2013 and July 1st, 2013. So hurray! This was a long time in coming.
The Next Big Thing
The wonderful Sotia Lazu tagged me in this “freeze-tag style blog hop that’s going around Authorville.” Basically, if you get tagged, fill out the questions on your own blog about your upcoming writing project, then tag five additional authors, linking to their blogs or websites. Don’t forget to let them know they were tagged.
THE TEN QUESTIONS:
1. What is the working title of your book?
Beneath the Shadows of Evil
2. Where did the idea come from for the book?
I honestly don’t remember. I love an evil and dark anti-hero, and a soulless vampire in a time when the world was a dark place fit the bill.
3. What genre does your book fall under?
Paranormal Historical Romance
4. Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition?
I honestly have no idea. I don’t really pay attention to the whole entertainment crowd and none of the people in the television shows I watch would fit.
5. What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book?
The darkest love story ever told, pits a cruel and soulless vampire Lord against a magical Gypsy girl in a battle for hearts in Medieval Hungary. How’s that for a run on sentence?
6. Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency?
7. How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?
I have been writing and rewriting and rewriting again for years. The first draft was saved on a floppy disk so that tells you something. I tend to write a story, put it away, and then take it out again when life allows me to be creative. I really can’t say how long ago it was.
8. What other books would you compare this story to within your genre?
Maybe something by Michelle Hauf. I haven’t found too much paranormal historical and tend to read outside of the genre I write.
9. Who or What inspired you to write this book?
My kinky side is what started me writing. When I gave in to it, I began reading everything I could to learn and to satisfy my need before I got out and began living it. I, myself, have a sadistic side and it took a long time to understand and be okay with my dark side and my anti-heros are like that. They are dark and cruel but capable of love, nurturing, and gentleness too.
10. What else about your book might pique the reader’s interest?
It will make you feel. The male lead is a truly evil creature, as are many who surround him. You will loath them. Instilling strong emotion with my words is a good thing. I chose a vampire because they have no remorse or morals. It was a huge challenge to cause a believable change in him to turn the book into a romance and to make readers who hate him with a passion change their views. At the same time he is never ever a marshmallow.
Right now I am looking about and trying to find people to list as the NBT. I will post links to their pages as I find them.
